An update on Luton West End Bowling Club’s fundraising (25/01/2022)
A message from the Club’s Secretary, Jane Spendley:
“Last evening we received notification that the Council has changed its mind, and they will now look after our green, for the foreseeable future.
“We are all very pleased to know we still have a club. Thanks must go to Hazel Simmonds and Luton Borough Council for allowing us to continue, and to keep the club going in our lovely park.
“I want to say a huge thank you on behalf of our club members to councillor Javeria Hussain for fighting our corner with LBC. She has managed to persuade them to keep looking after our bowling green, and to continue to support us going forward.
“Councillor Hussain told us she would do everything she could to keep council support for us, and we are so very grateful for her intervention on our behalf. Thank you Javeria, we are so happy to have a secure future. From the members of Luton West End Bowls Club.”
